Hello! My name is Joe and I welcome you to Abruzzo Unscripted, a deeply personal project dedicated to my love for everything Abruzzo. My mission and passion is to celebrate the rich culture, history, people, places, and spirit of Abruzzo - a place that holds memories that are indelible in my heart.

My Connection to Abruzzo

Having spent my formative years in Abruzzo during the 1970s and 1980s, I carry with me the cherished memories of a time and place that shaped who I am today. Growing up amidst the breathtaking landscapes, vibrant traditions, and the warmth of its people, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and resilience of this remarkable region from a very young age. I was blessed to have had a very close relationship with my maternal grandparents, and not one day goes by where I do not think of them or feel their presence in some form or fashion.

I currently live just a few miles outside of Boston, Massachusetts in the United States, but I return home to Abruzzo regularly to reconnect with my people and the ancient land that so many of my ancestors hail from.
